Grab a cup of coffee and take some time reading about how I approach a session and what to expect. Before you book with me, I want to make sure my style and approach is exactly what you're looking for! This way we can create the best possible experience!

A look into how i document a session

My main goal for each session it to capture the couple's true essence. I'm a documentary styled photographer, which means that I focus on real moments rather than telling you to stand in a specific way and  continuously smile at the camera the entire session.

Although most of my photos are not posed, I do like to take about 2-5 minutes during an hour session to get a few typical poses. The rest of the session is focused on prompts and directions, allowing me to capture movement as well as your genuine reactions.

I send out a couple’s questionnaire before your session. Your answers will help me plan a session that reflects who you two are together. If you are more quiet and intimate then the session will have more of that vibe and vice versa.

If you're wanting a session with more of the standard, smiling at the camera type posed photos, then I would recommend reaching out to a few other photographers as that is not my style.

My best work happens when my couple's trust me as their photographer along with trusting the process. I completely understand that getting your photos done can be nerve wracking but I recommend arriving to your session as relaxed as possible. The majority of my couple's arrive a little bit nervous but after the first 10 minutes, they're feeling comfortable and ready for the photoshoot!

I have all the prompts and directions ready, so you don't need to worry about what to do. I just ask that you work on staying present. The more you're able to be yourselves, the better I'll be able to capture who you two are as a couple.

Once you're booked, I send out my session guide that gives you tips and tricks on how to prepare for your session.

I make sure my editing is being true to what the day looked like, with a little bit of a nostalgic feel. If you're wedding day/ session is happening during a very bright sunny day, then your photos will have a little bit more of an orange sunny tone to them. If the photos are taken during a cloudy day then they'll have a little more of a blue tint to them.

As a documentary styled photographer, I want you to remember exactly how your day looked. My editing is clean and true to color because I want you to remember how your wedding flowers looked and the color of your decor. Within each gallery I also add in some black and whites (those are my favorites)!

Lastly in terms of photoshop, I do not alter body image. I do edit out any trash or distracting objects that are in the background. I can also edit out any blemishes that could be gone within the next few weeks of your session.

Do yourself a favor and book this lady! Natasha is such a sweet and talented photographer. She had us fill out a questionnaire before our engagement session and made us feel so comfortable and like we had known her forever. She took our engagement and wedding pictures and knocked both way out of the park and over delivered in every way. Seriously, every picture was beautiful! We are so happy to have found her and can’t wait to work with her again!

My free-spirited + documentary style approach to photography gives you real authentic moments to look back on so that you can remember this season in your lives together.
